I've always wanted my very own waterfall

This morning I was awaken by the fourth consecutive day of rain. I have become accustomed to the sound of rain on the roof, that suddenly intensifies as though someone has decided to turn up the pressure of the shower head. When it decides to rain at this rate (and you live on a hill) there are bound to be a few problems. Our downhill neighbour isn't too happy to be receiving our water, but he somehow doesn't realise that we are receiving water from our uphill neighbour too. Funny how gravity works! The best part about it all, is that I have a waterfall in my backyard. I have hiked many miles to see beautiful waterfalls, and now I have one of my very own.

Ankle deep in some spots.
Although the chickens have been flooded out, they decided to lay their first egg.
Water seeping through the fence of our uphill neighbours.
Water draining downhill.
Luckily Reggie put in a pathway through the flood.
A view from under my umbrella.
The fence is turning green from all the rain.
Another view from the umbrella.
Gavin's pool is full and ready for a swim.
And as always, a few pics of my favourite subject. 7 teeth and 11 months old.

A view without colour

Although I feel that vibrant colours in an image are beautiful, there is something nostalgic about a photo in black and white. Children become more angelic and the feeling of the moment is more apparent. I am experimenting with black and white photos, so any feedback or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I love the subjects in these photos, they have so much character and imagination.

This little guy makes me smile every day.

Right when I showed up at her house she wanted to show me this outfit, it was all she asked for for her birthday, KK the kangaroo.

This photo reminds me of the 50's, maybe it's the stove. KK waiting to go to her first day of Kindy.

Such an angel girl.

This little guy is a future artist, he kept giving me suggestions of photos to take, of course he wanted me to take them of him:)

Going on walkabout
My brother is so funny

One of the funniest kids I've ever met.

Fishmania

Did you know that I love fishing!? I almost love it as much as surfing. Today I almost loved it mored than surfing, which was mostly because we caught 6 yummy fish. I caught three (one yellow fin and two skip jack) and Jerry (my dad's good buddy who is out here visiting) caught three skip jack. We went trolling out at north island (directly east of where we live) and had a quadruple hook up. I love the sound....zsssssssss...the reels make when the hook has set in a tasty fishy, such a rush. Jerry took a few photos of my flawless technique;), so here it is. I wish you were all here in Australia so we could cook up some fish tacos. Until next time...I hope all is well and that you are healthy and happy.

So serious!!!
I feel like this outfit is very seventies with a mixture of fly fishing sportswear.

Superbowl Monday and some pics for mom

Here are some photos updating you on my entertaining life here in Mullaway (and surrounding areas). I am currently in transition waiting for school to start and am a bit bored. I am soaking it all in because in a few weeks I will begin another heavy load of classes. Most sane individuals take 4 classes as a full load, but I am very ambitious (or unfortunate) to have to be taking 6 classes again. I am optimistic because I took 6 last semester. So...here are some random photos while I am waiting.

Gavin is my favourite subject to photograph, he is always making faces.

He's nearly walking, watch out.
Reggie supporting his favourite team, the Chargers (even though they weren't playing in the Superbowl). Since we are a day ahead of the US, we had a superbowl Monday party with many enthusiastic guests.
My friend's daughter had her first day of Kindergarden last week. I was recruited to be the photographer for the morning.
I love this photo
Keanii in her Kangaroo costume, so cute!
