Big waves, bunnies and arts and crafts

My rainy day project that I only spent $7 on supplies from the thrift store....I am pretty proud of my spending and my craftyness :-) If anyone wants one, I can make you one.

I love tree swings, especially when you have such an amazing view
I'm a bunny aunty Becks...cutest bunny I've ever seen.
It has rained since I arrived back in Australia. The past few days have been a welcome break from the rain. We have been so incredibly lucky to have only suffered a little mud in our backyard. A few friends have been flooded in for a week and are slowly driving out of their properties. Birds we have never seen before have been appearing in the new puddles and ponds. We have also been visited by a beautiful swell and incredible weather that has brought us back to life. Today I took the opportunity to get a few shots of the waves. If you look closely you can see one little guy paddling through the set of waves....Once I put my camera away, he took off on the most amazing wave I have seen in a long time...a scene that will just have to remain in my memory. We feel very fortunate to have emerged from this flood without any issues...and we continue to think about and try to support those who have lost everything in the floods. Our hearts go out to you all. Much love...

The end of 2010

Ahh California. Although the warm weather and uncrowded beaches have drawn me to Australia, they cannot compare with the love that I feel when I am surrounded by my family and friends in California. Thank you all for being so good to me, I feel very lucky and blessed to know you all! All the best for 2011.
The view before we entered the storm. NSW
Have I said how much I love my underwater camera..Lana ripping.
Christmas mimosas after a cold surf
Christmas dinner...GG is right in the centre of it all
Quail Botanical Gardens winter event...we were geared up for a blizzard, but the snow hill was about the size of a large blow up pool. Still very fun...especially with this family :-)
Nothing like an evening carriage ride through the children's garden

"you never get over it, you just get on with it" EJH

This is my hero. This is the man that used to hold my hand, but whom I now hold in my heart and will carry forever.
This is the man who started with nothing, but who means everything. A man who put his heart and soul into his wife, family, friends, community and his dreams. A man who fought and nearly lost his life fighting for his country. A man who I stood beside at church and listened to sing (loudly and full of soul). A man who's voice made me smile with pride. A man of a million quotes, which I will carry with me and pass along to my own grandchildren. A man who made me laugh and had the best sense of humour. A man who challenged me to a dive contest (which I clearly won) and would forever after call himself the dive/swim champion (and would tell me he was going to go pull the trophy off the shelf to show me). A man who loved chocolate as much as me and never wanted to share it(but of course he would in the end). A man who was able to laugh and make a joke even in the hardest of times. A man who was my father's best friend. A man who I think of and both laugh and cry. A man who ended with everything. In the words of EJH "It's not how you start out, it's how you finish". I love you bumpa.

Michigan 2010

A few pictures from our trip to the US.

Lake Michigan
So different from the beaches I am used to...but it is absolutely gorgeous here.

Before climbing hundreds of steps to see Lake Michigan...and then we realised we could drive and park right next to it :-)

Gone Fishin

First fish caught in his first deep sea fishing adventure :)
Jauno likes bottom bashing...Juanu and I don't (it's boring)
Learning how to untangle his rig

The boys on the water
Happy days driving the boat...of course, now he wants one
Aren't we cute
The boys...again...love this photo
So sweet

Serious face for serious beer drinking...enjoying a beer after a day on the ocean.

I have been meaning to upload these photos, they are from before Christmas. We took a trip down to visit the family before they left for the states. We took JC out on the open seas for his first adventure deep sea fishing. We had a blast. We trolled and caught some yummy fish, did some boring bottom bashing (sitting waiting for a bite), swam at Nor-west island (a popular diving spot), and soaked up some summer weather.

We've Moved....again

We have just moved into a beautiful three story home across the street from the beach. It is the most beautiful place I have ever rented and I am so excited. We bought our first washing machine (that is huge for me) and matching furniture (no. it doesn't match the washer). So here are a few shots of the new abode. Enjoy...and come visit :)
The Subi out in front (the jeep has been retired to the garage)
Welcome. Mi casa es su casa.
Our bedroom balcony
The office/band room balcony
Can't see the ocean, but all we have to do is walk across the street and we are there

Janu resting up after single handedly lifting the couch up over the balcony (I held on to it and he ran upstairs to pull it over...I wish I had it on video...reminded me of my dad and how he always riggs things)
Finding this board room was like discovering a secret trapped door. We didn't know it existed and now we have the perfect spot for our prized possessions.
This is a photo in our old place...

Since we don't have kids, this is what I take photos of...his other love...motorcycles

I am unemployed at the moment (hopefully not for much longer) so I have lots of time on my hands to take stupid photos...so bear/bare with me. Sleeping beauty and the 5 day test match of cricket...very very exciting.

I admit that the second glass was staged, but I couldn't resist putting it there...the bear having an afternoon "kindy/kip/nanna nap"

I hope everyone is doing well in the new year...My thoughts are with you all and those who are going through some tough times. I feel very blessed to have a roof over my head and a beautiful, healthy family. Much love to you all!
